Hi folks, I have finally finished my D8 dozer. I scratch built an open ROPS with work lights, upgraded the plastic exhaust with a aluminium one, I wsnt really happy with the hydraulic rams for the blade once they were built so i rebuilt them using aluminium tube as well, i have added extra rippers , the engine and hydraulics have been plumbed and i cut open and hinged the radiator panel as well as drilling out the air holes. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed building it. Thanks Al

Amazing detail! I like the added touch of the fire extinguisher. The ROPS looks very good as well.
Also the drilling on the grill along with the hinges is a nice added touch.
Well done.

Nice! Color is right on. Did you use cat yellow paint? I have the JD back hoe and bought the JD construction yellow to paint it. The front of yours looks real good! Glad you ditched the decal.

Hi guys, thanks for stopping by and having a look, i really appreciate you taking the time to comment as well. Win, you are spot on there, it took me a loooong time to get started on this, but once i got going it wasnt hard at all, a little planning goes a long way. Mitch, the colour is Humbrol trainer yellow (i cant think of the number right now) its the colour recommended in the instructions, its air brushed over a grey primer base and then 2 coats of Tamiya gloss clear, hope that helps. hey SSG, man i dont have any spares but the rippers are available from www.modeltrucks.com.au/ so thats that so far, as soon as i stop letting work get in the way i'll finish the low loader. thanksagain guys, keep building Alan

hey there KWfreak, its an AMT kit, still available on that auction site at fairly high prices though, it was rereleased a few years back so you might be able to find one in a hobby shop, and yeah, i'm in the process of building a trailer for it but i've got too many projects and no where near enough time..... hehehhehe.... same old same old. thanks for looking.'
