Ok, i know this is far from a commercial vehicle but i didnt want to chance putting it in the "in the shop" thread because it definately isnt a truck. My friend has a 1988 Nissan Pathfinder and i wanted to make a customised version of it as a gift, the plan is to give it large mud terrain tyres (i have 39" tyres now but i'm thinking 46-49" justfor fun), high lift kit, winch, lots of driving/spot lights and of course a couple of other things. I bought some parts from an ebay supplier a few weeks ago along with a Toyota 4 runner kit (just for fun) but unfortunately the closest i can get to his vehicle is a 1992 version (the Terrano) Two obvious problems with this are that it's a four door (not two as with the '88 version) and it's LHD. I'm going to use the old fashioned method for converting the dash (cut it up into manageable peices and re-assemble it) but as for the doors, well that was surprisingly easy. This was how the shell started the day, ('92 model) And here's what i've come up with after only two hours ('88 model), so far i'm cut out and moved the 'c pillar', scribed new lines for the window surround where the door panel was and filled in the old door panel lines Here's the 4 Runner (white) and Pathy (grey) shells side by side showing a standard height All Terrain (A/T) tyre, and the larger Mud Terrain (M/T) tyre on it's left.

I think i might eventually build a doirama for it... have it bogged and the winch hooked up to a 'tree' on the side, or i could use the 4 Runner too, have that bogged and the pathy coming to the rescue.

a quick update for you. I redid the rear windows as i had the diagonal bar in the wrong place (2mm too low) and i also added a thin strip running from behind it to the end of the window due to the different height of this window. I have "disected" the front suspension assembley and increased the ride height by 4mm (in 1:1 scale thats a 100mm or 4" lift), this also required the bash plate to be modified. this is what it looked like originally and just for s**ts and giggles. My mates pathfinder has lost both the vents between the bonnet (hood) and the front window exposing the gutter beneith it, so i did the same. *yes, i had a slight "oops" with the one on the right, but it's nothing a bit of putty wont fix.
