5-13-08 Well Guy's.. There is a light at the end of the tunnel finally... Instead of adding to the original thread..which now is getting pretty lenghty...I wanted to start something new..to capture the finishing touches on this "beast" as it nears the finish line... If all goes well..another week or two..the final unveiling...Thank you to everyone for the great/kind comments and feedback..Glad to share this with you all..Happy building. Kurt Mclucas I am going after the new look..BUT I did add some minor weathering, using the Tamiya weathering master...pretty nice stuff. And..yes my scratch built "chute-cleaner" All the decals you see here are readily available at Sourkraut's, the mixer decals will be available shortly if interested.

Guy's...
Thank you for all the great comments. The hood and cab are being worked on..at the moment.
The tires are aftermarket (front and rear) from another master modeler (solid soft resin) the wheels are from the Mack Cruiseliner kit...de-chromed..primered/Alclad polished aluminum applied...
Most of you know I hate to piant..BUT I love to fabricate...as for the lift axle..100% scratchbuilt..along with all the other pieces and parts that didn't come with the original kits..tons of modifications as well.
I'll post some more pictures as the end nears....Kurt McLucas

6-8-08 Well guy's I'll keep it short for now. The mixer is nearing the end hopefully. Here are a few pictures that were completed yesterday. This project has burned me out..litterally..Took a little time off from it..Now, I have to get it done..timeline/completion date is coming up fast... The interior is complete..ready to install..I have to do the additional door lettering..and the hood assembly..Now that is a different story... The Cab you see in the new set of pictures is not the original..I had to start from scratch on that one..the hood received not 1 but 2 brake fluid bath(s)...again both long stories... This kit is definately throwing it's challenges..especially after paint..Got to love it. The next set of pictures will be of the completed unit. Thank you to all for the kind comments..throughout this build...Havve a safe and Happy Summer... Kurt Mclucas Scratch built passenger side mirror/bracket.... A little more mock-up...and finally the interior last shot...
