Is there a "Bargain of The Month" award & can i claim it? I have seen this kit in my local hobby shop for over 2 years(i think it's been there even longer judging by the fading & dust)and finally decided to buy it yesterday! These kits are currently going for around £40-£50($80-100usd/$58-$73euro/$117-$146nzd) on Ebay UK so i thought at $79.95nzd it was a good buy. When i took it to the counter the bloke put it through the till & charged me $23.10nzd($16.00usd/$11.70euro/£7.91) Needless to say i pointed out the mistake(NOT!)

good buy!i think the one i have i paid about $63 for it, bargains like this can be found from time to time tho, about 3 years ago a mate of mine who only built cars at the time had gone to the local k martto see what kits they had and bought some hot rods,he also decided to buy an italeri mercedes wrecker they had there, when he got to the checkout the truck went thru the register at$13 not the 59.99 on the shelf, his cars turned out to cost more than the truck, lol, boy did he rub it in, a few days later i needed to travel to a different city for a medical appointment, whilst there we went to the k mart there,as usual i checked the models, they had some mercs there,my dad was with me i told him the story of the one my mate had purchased,my dad swiftly picked one up and went to a price checker,it rang up at $9!,we got the last 3 they had, lol,my mate stopped bragging then, lol,

I just got my ebay "best offer" approved for the AMT 1/25 kenworth 925 kit{not the movin on one...the other kit} ...the auction was up for two days with a buy it now for $85 or best offer{she has a 352 pete cabover up for the same set up}, I made an offer of $75 and she took it within 5min of me posting it. I know this kit goes over 3 digits and I was in a "what the heck...no one else has touched it" mood, what have I got to loose. Now it's been a 10min mad scramble to reset my paypal account cards...got my primary credit card hacked early last week and had one on paypal that I canceled. I put the news cards on just before coming here. Oh, another added joy was only "$7.00" shipping for the kit. Makes a bad last two weeks seem better seeing as that kit runs over $100 easy on ebay.

Jerry, that's a good one! You can get other decals...that's why I like the "plain" KW I got cause the movin on ones sell for even more{don't know why}. There are some good delas to be had on ebay...not many, but there are some....anyone else? Come on, give us some hope here!.......

in the past year I have scooped up on a few good deals. Several of them have been built ups, but when you can't get the kit without paying major $$$, I'll settle for them and rebuild 'em.

I just checked my ebay watch list and in the ended list was, after I had bought mine of course!, was the same KW gone for $53 and some small change..lol..figures. Eh...I'm still happy with mine....they were going for far more before I got my kit...but now they'll drop down{murphy's law}. Now here's a daring question...would we want to entertain the idea of posting our "buyer" names here from ebay?! It could be nice to know who I just beat{hahaha}...or...whom I just lost to{most common occurance for me}.

AMT White Road Boss. Sealed and complete for $19.99, and a cheap shipping charge. Less than $30 altogether. That count for a good deal?

Jerry I just scored a Transtar 2 partially built for under$20 about a month ago. I believe the same way you do. If I see some freightliner DD builtups, I'm going for them. Better that than triple digit pricing. Besides, restorations are fun, and ebay junker cabs make great guinea pigs for custom projects. No screwing up a new kit, LOL.

Good finds. Those DD's are getting pricey, even the builtups, so I hope they weren't xpensive.
