I'm sitting here in my home office looking out the window at a very nice 1988 (I asked the driver) Mack Superliner dumper; and this got me to thinking: what would I need to do to have a Superliner in my collection? (Whoa, that Peterbilt 379 heavy-haul just drove by again).
Now, I know that Italleri has a Superliner kit, but to make it accurate it needs quite a bit of work, and it's 1/24. AITM makes a Superliner cab kit (1/25?), but what frame to use? Would the Mack R-Series kit be the best? Is the engine in that kit correct for a Superliner? How about the suspension?
This probably won't happen for a while, but it's an interesting mental exercise.

I found them, too. They're good articles. I guess it would be better to convert the Cruiseliner kit into an early RW-600 Superliner, than the R-series. Or, get the Italleri kit, chop away, and hope for the best!

Also, the cummins would be correct. If I'm not mistaken the reason for the big hood was so they could put a larger rad to cool down the high horsepower engines

Thanks, Ray. I appreciate it.
I was on the road today driving on I-81 between Syracuse, NY, & Pittston, PA; and every flad bed I passed I thought of you. I don't know why. Just did. You weren't out East were you, by chance?

And now it's all torn up in PA. Penn DOT is reparing just about every bridge in the state. I-81, I-80, and the Penn Turnpike are a mess.
