Another fantasy fire dept. build, I built this for the 2008 Scale Fire House Forum Contest. The name is word play utilizing the kit decals, I got the idea from the 1:1 city of Guilford College, NC. Mostly straight out of the box with a aluminum exhaust tip, 3M 1/4" pinstripe tape in place of kit decals, I modified the kit light positions & used spares box roof lights in place of kit lights(I'm old school & hate strobes & L.E.D.'s), modified the ridiculous kit ladder rack & added pike poles to the tubes, shoe string feeder hoses, vinyl lacing for attack lines & electric tape covered shoe string simulating the LDH. modified & installed a AMT booster reel & loaded with 18 guage wire simulating rubber hose. Opened the molded engine vents & covered with black mesh, AMT ladders, AMT bell eagle, many more little mods I can't remember & added a bunch of spares box widgets all over. For the most part, I don't like a lot of chrome on my models, so I dullcoted the wheels & front bumper diamond plate surface. Between transporting to & from the show, the windshield, mirror lens loosened & the siren front is MIA & I just knocked the rear hand rail & light bar loose - errrrgh !! On a whim, to support the club at the Raleigh show Saturday, I entered it & took 3rd in the Truck class - talk about a surprise!! Hope ya'll like it. Thanks guys. Next on Park College's list is either E-2, water supply, or Squad 1, manpower/extra equipment rig, built using the Revell Pete fire truck. Then the real fun starts - 2 more ALF's, 1 will be a heavy rescue, the other a quint, using a modified AMT aerial ladder.

Cool build. I just watched a program where they showed the build up of Pierce firetrucks and it got me wondering.... What if a moving company ordered a few crewcab tractor units for their fleet. That way the whole moving crew for the big jobs can ride all in the same truck.

Thanks Rick. I've seen some straight frame crew cabs, no tractors - good idea.
