Folks: This is a 1980 Matchbox 1/25 kit, with an 8V-92T and 108" sleeper. Instructions are good but they do not identify parts by name. I am trying to identify the type of tandem (rear) suspension on this model. There are 4 bags and 2 shocks per axle. Above and in between the axles, there appears to be something that looks like a torsion bar assembly, but one I have never seen before. There are two assemblies of rods, each in the shape of an L. One end of each L attaches to the frame rail, the other to a cross member, and the L also articulates with the axle. But the assembly is asymmetric, in that each L attaches only to one frame rail. When you look down from the top of the chassis, the entire assembly looks like a zig-zag. Are these just plain old torsion bars, or is there a specific name or reference to this type of rear suspension?

The suspension is the Kenworth 8-bag air ride suspension. I have ywo of these kits (on AMT and one Esci/ERTL), and neither have parts descriptions.

What's the difference between the Airglide 100 & Airglide 200?

Looking at it the 200/400 is heavier? don't know for sure?, apparently there was some issues with the 200 and there is a retrofit kit to make it the 400?, I know I have only seen one of the 100's in the last several years, lots of the new trucks are coming in with the 400 vs Hendrixson walking beams, the KW dealer brought several new trucks over to get the frames straightened and axles aligned before they sent them to the customers. 200/400 exploded view www.truckcomponentsonline.com/Airglide-200400-Air-Suspension_c_365.html

Its like a Watts linkage, helps keep the axle centered if i remember correctly.
