It seems to always work that way for me too. What I dread doing usually is a snap. Paul

The pins he is talking about, are what the "teeth" in the drive sprocket engage (mesh) with to move the tracks. The clearest photo I can give you is a M 4 Sherman, but All track laying vehicles use some variation of this type of pin and gear method to move the vehicle. Paul Yep That is what I was talking about Kerry Nice work so far, on the track frames, is that only the first half that you have made? And did the mechanics also tell you that the track frames move, to make the foot print wider? Keep up the great work, and look forward to an up date soon

Hey Tony, the frames are right and left but since the pics were posted I had to rework them a little and remake the track sprocket but it is going in the positive direction now so soon I can show more. The mechanics did tell me that the frames move and how far, so I have that figured in already. Thanks for your comments and talk with you soon Kerry

Hello everyone, I'm sorry for not getting an update to you sooner but I have had multiple problems on different matters. One being a crash with my ole friend, my computer. It was about 11 years old and suffered a mother board problem and finally died. I am in the process of setting up this new puter and trying to recover my pictures and other important data and one of the problems with age on computers and my memory is I depend on the computer to remember sign on info for I forgot and never got around to writing it down somewhere. So much for that, I have a small update but none the less a update and I have not had the time to work too much on my crane but I have managed to get the track portion done. Below is a picture of what they turned out like and I do like how they turned out. I also feel like that is the most time consuming part of the whole build. But now that things are slowly coming on line for me again, I hope to be moving along on this alittle faster. Again I am sorry for the delay. I will have more too share with you guys as soon as I can. Thanks so much Kerry

Hey Paul, I ordered the chain from a web site that I found and again my old computer had all the data from it. They had all kinds of chain and related items. I bought like 2 feet of it for around 23 bucks I think. It is plastic and very easy to work with and it looks good for what I needed. I will try and find a invoice or something for the name. Kerry

Kerry, The track frame is looking good. It came out looking very real. I too am curious as to where you got the chain.

Kerry, Thanks for the link. I will check that out for sure! OH I looked for my boom drawings and they are nowhere to be found I used a 45 degree angle on the struts or webbing. But it may be tighter than that.
