What are you guys using for an airbrush paint booth? The only ones I've seen for sale commercially are pricy - couple of hundred dollars, or more.
Any one rigged up one out of a plastic storage box with some kind of fan unit? and would you need a furnace filter ahead of the fan??
Thanks for any help on building one of these units!

I use a rubbermaid storage box to spray, which is nice because I can seal it up after painting, and less chance of dust / contaminants hitting the paint.
I haven't hooked up a fan to it yet, but I have been checking around for a fan - the biggest thing I have found, is that you want an explosion proof fan.
From what I gather, this type has the motor sealed or separated from the airflow and fan itself. This is needed because of the fumes from some paints are flammable, and could catch with a spark from the motor.
As far as a filter, I was planning to vent outside, not sure about a filter do catch the paint spray.

I was just looking for the spraybooth I use, but it seems to be a little on the expensive side your side of the pond, around £75 over here, around $200 over there .... But I've had mine for around 12 months now, and it's a very good unit, I bought the extra ventilation hose for it so I can vent the fumes out of the window. www.modelexpo-online.com/product.asp?ITEMNO=HSE420

I'm planning on making one out of plexiglass but at the moment I'm still gathering my parts for it. I've already have an exhaust fan and a couple of pieces of the plexiglass out of a dead flat screen monitor but I still have some ore to get. I'll post it when I'm done
