Does anyone have experience with this kit or atleast this version of it? I have seen a KW wrecker on here with a sleeper, and one that was kitbashed I think but don't know if they are from same kit as this. Does this kit build well or will I have to do more than just trim excessive flash? I am going to build it with the included sleeper so I know extending the frame is in store, but I did that on my last truck so all good there. It is any other potential problems I want to be aware of before I start building.

I have this kit in my stock, but not yet build. The scale on the box is a lie, it's 1:25 (or smaller) like all other Revell KW kits, too. It will be as easy to build like other Revell kits, too - some parts will fit good, others not. I didn't study the manual (I will do it tomorrow!), but I think, to stretch a frame is not an option in a standard "Out Of Box"- kit. My intension is, wether you can build it as a wrecker (like shown on the box) OR a common semi tractor without using the wrecker- parts but using the sleeper. Did You measured the lenghts of the frame? Is it long enough to fit the sleeper AND the wrecker- parts? (I think, that won't fit). Or are the sleeper parts are marked as "Parts not used in this kit" in the manual? The kit is the same, like the "Thurn & Taxis" Beer rig, without using the sleeper but with a wrecker on it (Let me take a look to the manual........) Here is picture of a wrecker with sleeper, using Italeri 1:24 parts without the need of strechting the frame, because the frames of all Italeri american trucks are long enough for such conversions: Martin

I have built a couple of those in the past and gave them away as gifts. The kit comes with all the parts to build the semi tractor with the sleeper. It also has the parts to build the wrecker but you cannot use the sleeper on the wrecker version unless you stretch the frame. It also has a plate that fills in the back of the cab where the crawl thru would be to the sleeper. I had no major problems building the trucks from the box except one I built had warped side panels for the wrecker bed. Other than that it builds up pretty well.

Thanks for the reply mart, I have not opened or removed the plastic from any thing other than the box yet so I went in assuming that to build it as a wrecker with the sleeper I would need to stretch the frame. I actually had that plan before I got it, and did not know it had the sleeper in there until I opened the box I was think would need to find a sleeper. Basically I was trying to decide whether to build this or a trailer to put behind my recently finished Revel Pete 359 next. I am glad this kit should go together well, and thanks for the reply tbuskirk. Guess I was just a little worried since it will be my first wrecker and these kits are not cheap(although I actually got lucky on Ebay). On top of that I am still early on in getting back into model building so I have a lot yet to learn.
