Getting things in place to make big rigs again.

First, if I may, let me give you a little tour of my shop. It was the old garage until we built the new one. But now it's all mine (except for my wife's treadmill and an old chair) and it is just about finished except for insulating the overhead door and one corner. I'll get that done later.
I'll start from the door and go around the room in a counter clockwise fashion.

Sorry about the dogs in the pictures, it was better just to work around them than move them. The old wood cabinets are some my dad made before he passed and I just didn't have the heart to take them down. 

Still have to store all the yard tools in this garage, the other is just for cars. 


Now we are getting into the work area.

A couple of other projects in work.


My son toolbox and other junk.

Finally back to the door. As you can see I just finished most of the insulation and pegboard before winter set in.

Now to the workbench. A spray booth plans are drawn out and ready to build.


You just got to have a paint and tool caddy.


You got to have materials to work with.

My first project is the Peterbilt wrecker.


And if I'm going full tilt with this beast it has start with working door.

Now that is the beginning of one heck of a nice workshop! I like the drafting table. I want to get one of those.
Good looking Setter. i like dogs and though I don't have one now. have had dogs for years my last one was a pitbull I rescued. She was a real sweetheart. And would curl up under my computer desk or workbench.

I look forward to watching the wrecker build.

Thanks Gator! As for the drafting table I picked it up at a yard sale for about 2 bucks.
As for the dogs we have three. We have had setters for 35 years but this will be the last of them. Come over sometime and will work on a model together.

Thanks, The Kennedy box is left over from my job as a machinist. I couldn't do much without my measuring tools. lol As for the TV it is a 1951 Admiral, combo turntable, radio, and television. The cabinet is below the TV and is ready stain and varnish. It works but has a few problems. It is a project I had to put on hold as I haven't been able to find some of the tubes I need. Hamfest is in the spring and I hope to get all the tube I need then. It is actually pretty neat as it a 21G1 all copper chassis but has been a hassle to repair as the way the three components tie together. I finally found the photofact for it and plan to do the alignment with the oscilloscope once I have the correct tubes. Now I just wish I had kept my granddaddy's old tube tester.

Would love to come over for some build time with you. But the round trip would kill my model building budget!!!! lol
I just moved on January 2nd, I have a small work desk upstairs in the den. The big work bench is still in the planning and build stage. I will be taking some pics and posting them soon!
