Here's another of my "customized" die cast trucks. It started out as just a plain 1950 Chevy by Ertl . Again, I tore it down and stripped the paint. I built the tool box fenders out of brass and added a few detail parts. The engine came from a plastic model kit of the same truck and PE parts from Model Car Garage. The crane was also built out of brass tubing and bits. The "prover" was completely built from scratch out of brass. The prover vessel was machined on my lathe as well as the "vintage' fire extinguisher. It's fully wired and plumed. Now here's a good one... Does anyone know what the heck a prover is??
Here's my guess if you're talking about the red can in the foreground of the first photo. Its what they use to pump gas into to check (prove) the accuracy of the meter on the pump. It's narrow at the top to give a precise reading on a fairly large sample.
In any case, very nice work!
