The one with the Scania reminds me of the day I drove a Ford Louie cement bowl rig to a site in my home town when I backed into the house yard I asked of there where any problems I should know about the yard the answer NO was screamed at me, I backed in to beside the house and had just got out of the cab when a 100 yr old cellar that no one knew about gave way the bowl rig containing a load of cement fell 35 feet into the cellar as they say lot, stock and barrel the complete truck sat on it's side cement oozing out of the bowl and nothing no one could doabout it not even me, except laugh our heads of at what had just happened as no one got hurt & we all saw the funny side of it even the home owner.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can see going up the wrong ramp the way some of them are marked, but there was plenty of time to stop and try to correct the situation. He went 20km they said. I wonder why he kept going?

I took this last week on my way to Alexandria, LA. At about the 33-34 mile marker in the West bound lane of IH-10. The truck burned all the way down to the rims! What is not in the picture is behind the rig about 100 feet is the contents of the trailer. The contents are badly smoke damaged. The driver and other motorists pulled out the contents as it burned. I feel for the families as their irreplaceables are proberly lost or damaged... but they sure will be getting a FAT check to cope with their loss.

Give a slap on the back to whomever secured this load. It stayed on the trailer! This is in resposne to the trailer sitting in the gully and the truck still on the road....

trucky, your post reminds me of an incident back in 1976. I was working for a crew laying a concrete floor in a new house in a rural area. It sat a considerable distance from the road and driveway. We were preparing to lay the floor in the basement, after being delayed a couple of days to to some heavy rains. When the concrete truck came, the driver was directed to back off of the driveway, and down to the house. He balked, but was reassured that there would be no problems. The driver finally gave in and backed down to where he was to unload the cement. He had no problems of getting in, but when he attempted to pull out, he started spinning, and ended up burying the truck to the axles. A tow truck was called, and he too bot buryed to the axles. Finally a neighbor with a big eight tire, four wheel drive tracktor came to help. He got buryed too. We got plenty more rain that spring, and I went by two or three weeks later and the whole line was still sitting there. I have no idea when or how the ever got that mess out of there.

Here's a bad one that happened back in the early 90's on the NY Thruway. I used to work for the company. Word had got around fast that day that we had lost one of our drivers. That was bad enough. Until I saw the truck being brought through our yard. Story has it that the driver fell asleep coming into a construction zone. NY staggers there dump trucks (used too, dont know if they still do) right as you were coming into the work zone. 1st one on the shoulder, 2nd one halfway off the shoulder and the 3rd sat right in the right lane. Probably 100 ft from each other ,maybe a little further apart, The the driver made it by the 1st two trucks, but unfortunaley hit the back of the 3rd almost square on. I don't remember how fast he was exactly going but from the pics it didn't really matter. Bad news

I had a hard time figuring out if that KJ was a cabover or conv. It's a cabover isn't it? Anyway, it's sad what happened to him.
