Part of the hobby room, I have been collecting for about 7 years. I love the haulers, eventually I will build a 1:25 scale of one. Geez, I need to dust!

Nascar collecting and watching is my other hobby.I have an about 6 foot long,3 foot high glass cabinet full. Also have 4 large totes full, mainly 1/64. Lots of posters and such too. That tony stewart car in your 2nd last pic must be rare(I have one also),as it's quit high in the value books.I have 2 real rare ones a 1 of 1500 ward burton and a 1of 500 jonnie benson that I stumbed on at good old wall mart.

I used to (several years ago) really follow the NASCAR circuit when it was Busch and Winston Cup. I have a pretty large collection including autographed diecasts, autographed pictures and checkered flag with several autographs. That along with a buch of other stuff used to occupy space in my dinning room. The last couple years I have lost interest as it looks to me like all it's become is cooperate money and is no longer racing. Hence, all my souvenirs are now in boxes in my attic aging gracefully.

What is the number 12 car in the first couple of pics? If that is a Kerry Earnhardt car, it's one I need desperately to add to my collection. I have a huge Nascar collection including signatures, race used memerobilia, autographs, the whole deal. I also have over 300 1/24 diecasts packed away of Earnhardt, Jarrett, Stewart, Earnhardt Jr., and Truex Jr. I have about 30 carboard standups that have been used through the years for ad displays as well. Like so many others, I don't follow it as closely as I used to as I am also not happy with the direction Nascar has taken over the past few years. I do still follow Jr., but I forgot when the last time was that I actually sat down and watched a race from the green flag to the checkered flag. I'm a good ole boy from the south, so you can imagine how I feel about tracks like Darlington, North Wilkesboro, and Rockingham losing dates they had for decades. We won't get into that topic of discussion here though.

HI Brian, Wow, sounds like you have an awesome collection. I am a newbie. The 12 car is a noname, It was in a playing card pack tin that I bought. Bicycle playing cards and I thought it was kinda cool. $5.00. I have to agree with you and others on the CORPORATE angle that this sport has taken. Ten years ago (Winston Cup & Busch)....smokes and beers Today......Call me on Sprint and have a Clariton Clear day while building your backyard gazebo from Home Depot? OH Well. I watch more in the spring (Daytona) and early summer and then The Chase. Anyway heres a couple more pics.

You lucky dog! that is definitely Kerry Earnhardt's car. Let em know if you ever want to part with that car. It's the only piece I don't have to complete Kerry's collection. I have all of his cars including the Channelock Chevy, the Supercuts cars and the neon yellow Mike and Ike's car as well. I was lucky enough to get Kerry to autograph all of them too. Some of the cool things I have in my collection include: 37 Home Depot cars, all autographed by Tony Stewart 326 Dale Earnhardt Sr. diecast - his complete collection to date 279 Dale Earnhardt Jr. diecast - ALMOST complete and mostly autographed 54 Dale Jarret autographed diecast cars Freightliner advertising poster with Dale Earnhardt and his Wrangler Monte Carlo (One of my favorite pieces) I have a couple pics I was able to snap when I was in Daytona in 2001 of Dale and Jr. as well. I was fortunate enough to be close friends with Dale and had gone to school with Kerry, Kelly and Jr., although Jr. and Kelly were a few years behind me. Actually Jr. was quite a few years behind me, but we won't get into that. The pics i have from 2001 are without a doubt my absolutely most prized possessions because I was able to catch a side of Dale noone else in public ever saw. Dale made me promise though that I wouldn't publicize or otherwise circulate the pics and i promised him I wouldn't. I did make a copy for Jr. though and had it blown up to an 11x14 and I gave it to him when I went back to Daytona in July of 2001. Jr. now has that picture framed in his living room and he has told me it's his most valued picture out of all he has of him and his Daddy. It was just pure luck that I was able to catch that moment in time the way I did. Over the years I built dozens of models for Dale and he displayed them proudly in his office and at his home as well as in the raceshops and his dealership. After he passed Jr. inherited the collection and now has them in a locked display case in his den along with about a dozen cars I've built for him as well. I used to build cars for several drivers, but I haven't had the time the past few years to do that. I do still build for Jr. though and he calls me everytime he gets a new car for his collection. He also makes sure if I have the time to go, there are 2 tickets and access passes for the track I decide to go to. I don't take advantage of that very often though. I used to go to Daytona twice a year and was able to spend time in Dale's pits and garage area, but as my schedule has changed, so has the amount of free time I have to go to Daytona. I do still talk to Jr. about once a week or so though and I do race him online as well on Tuesday nights when I'm not working. He is constantly at me to move back home and work with him at his shops. Who knows, maybe someday I will, but right now i'm happy doing what I do, even though there are alot of hours involved. Anyways, back to my collection, I also have several pieces of race used sheetmetal including a hood from Dale's 1987 Wrangler Monte Carlo that is signed by everyone at the shop at the time including Chocolate Myers, Will Lind, Kirk Shelmerdine, Danny Smith, Dale himself and Richard Childress. I also have a complete driver's outfit, including helmet of Dale's that he had wehn he won the 1998 Daytona 500. That is packed away and sealed so nothing happens to it. I also have a piece of the infield where he did his donuts after winning the 500. I have literally thousands of other pieces as well too numerous to list here, but I think you get the idea. Needless to say, I've been a Nascar fan a VERY long time. it's just a shame it's not what it used to be.

Actually it's neither. Dale set up a site specifically for online SIM Racing and we use Papyrus' Nascar Racing 4. Other drivers race there on occasion as well. Martin Truex, Denny Hamlin, Bobby Labonte and others frequent the site when time permits so it's a pretty cool deal. I've raced against those guys and have beat them all at one time or another. I like the technical aspect of setting the cars up to the track and so forth alot. I spend more time working on qualifying and race setups than I do actually practicing driving or racing the car. It's just a cool time but I haven't been on there in months now due to my schedule. It's also harder to get the drivers on during the season due to their hectic schedules.
