I find the best solution is to pack them with modeling clay and smoothing out the inside of the tire where it goes over the rim. Once the tire is put on the rim. a little squeezing around the tire will set the bead and hold it.

Hello truckbuilders,i want to show what i do with the "beautiful" revell tires that them look better on the model. 1st i put some double-sided tape on the wheelzz. Then i put some material (don`t know the english word) in the tire. After that i put the tire on the wheel. And so it lookz after all.

I've used the foam water pipe insulation. Slice off what you need with a razor blade, put in tire and put on rim. Got that idea from what Trumpeter did witrh the tires on the ALF. Paul

Fitting tires onto wheels Published: October 1, 2007 Tip: I had a problem with some Revell-Monogram 1/25 scale truck tires not fitting onto the wheels, because the tire openings were too large for the wheels.
To solve the problem, I used two sizes of small rope to essentially build up the "hole" in the tire (to decrease the size of the opening).
One piece was approximately 6cm in diameter and about 9mm in length, and was inserted inside the tire. Another piece approximately 4cm in diameter by about 8mm in length (the diameter of the wheel) fits inside that one. You may have to trial-fit for length.
The wheels fit nice and snug now.
I hope this makes sense. The larger-diameter rope I used is braided poly; the smaller-diameter is like a nylon clothes- line rope.

Great tip! Thanks for sharing. I've used the sliced foam pipe insulation & it works well but I'm thinking the cotton balls would be a quicker fix. I'll give 'em a try.
All the best.
Gary.
