Hi, thanks for those links, unfortunately, the body style is quite different to the '67 on model I understand was used in the film. I emailed Jimmy Flintstone to see if they had any intention of making one before I started scratchbuilding but no reply there either!

Sorry for dragging this up again but getting info on US trucks from here in the UK isn't easy! I am trying to gather the necessary info to build the dirty Pete. I have got hold of a California Hauler Peterbilt as a starting point. Is the rear suspension the correct type for the ' walking beam'? Does anyone have photos/ a link showing the suspension up close? I want to be as acurate as possible so any help would be appreciated

The truck in "Duel" was a 1955 Peterbilt 281, so it doesn't have a walking beam suspnesion. The other axle is a tag axle.
The "California Hauler" is a good start (must have paind the Queen's Ranson for that). I don't really know what type of engine is in the Duel truck, and you can't really go by the sounds in the movie.

Thanks for the replies! The kit I have is T501, not the earlier one so only cost £30 on ebay (about $45). I have tried Dan at St. Louis both by email and through the Duel forum but no luck with a reply so far, although there are new pictures and information on there, plus I didn't read the info properly before which mentions a 'Page and page spring suspension' set up! (according to his information, his sole surviving truck is a 1960, the main truck was a1956 with a 1964 truck used for the added scenes when the TV movie was extended for a cinema release so I suppose there is no true 'right way' - but I would still like pictures of that suspension set up!

A Page & Page would be cool. Don't see to many of them. I'd be tempted to put one on a Ford H-Series. Ford Suspension

One of the coolest movie trucks ever! I just picked up Italeri's Scania conventional wrecker, and from what I can remember about the Page and Page suspension it might be close. I do know that if anybody were to make one, they would probably sell a lot.(I'd take a few my self!) Steve
