I haven't seen one in scale yet other than diecast maybe. I would like to have one also. The steps on those are cool, probably till you have a mishap with one anyway. Mullen has ome bada%& trucks. I wouldn't mind taking a tour of their place. I am planning a build with a Mullen Pete for inspiration in the future.

Hi astro1973,
I asked Kit Form Services about the Freightliner Argosy about a year ago as they are perfect for B-doubles and this way the response I got
" Sorry, none that I am aware of. I once saw a set of master patterns that a French guy built with the intention of casting them. But that was about 6 years ago & I've heard or seen nothing of those since. Howard @ KFS "

Man! I'd love to have that! It gives me a little hope that someone, somewhere is going to make one.

I have never visit the Jambeke show in Europe, but I have seen many pictures from there every year since 2004. A few years ago one 24 scale Argosy appears there. Maybe Twist67 knows more details than me, (I don't know if he has ever visited this show). This resin - I think - kit looked very nice and the modeler has done great work on it. As I said, maybe Twist67 could give to you more details than me, I just wanted to confirm that a scale model of Argosy exist. Kostas

I'm not too sure of the year of the truck, but J.B. Hunt ran Argosy's a few years ago. When you opened the door, the steps swung out,and you just "walked up" into the cab. When you closed the door, the steps swung under the cab. IIRC, the steps were air operated. Pretty cool!

Air operated steps? Now that's cool (until your air line freezes). What will they think of next.

I thought those steps were electric...... I have in the past worked on a few of those for JB Hunt but the steps were in-operable and bolted shut. Guess they were to exspensive to fix.

Kostas Unfortunately this kit doesn't exist, there was only ever 7 kits sold from what I understand, and then withdrawn, yes it was at Jabeke but the copyright police stopped it being sold,he also done a colorado (?) as well, but the result was all moulds and masters confiscated, I can't remember the modeler involved but heard that he hasn't built much since thanks to Paccar, the best person to speak to would be Andre at the Dutch model truck site I also think that Bobby Griffen owns the rights to building and marketing this truck, as he does with other Paccar stuff, but with him giving up modeling, who knows if it will be done, there was talk that he and De elegant where doing something with it There has been 2 that I know of in Australia that have been scratch built, as they are very popular here

From what I've read about the Argosy when it was first introduced, the designers wanted a COE truck that a driver could climb into with a cup of coffee in his hands and not spill it. Thats why the steps are "air operated". When you open the door, hit the little yellow button and the steps swing out. BTW, the Argosy uses the same cab shell as the Century Class conventional Freightliner hence the flat floor (only a 4" hump) Ray

If you watched season 2 of Ice Road Truckers you could have seen alot of Mulluns oil field trucks. As for their company trucks, they usually run T-800 Kenworths from what I've seen. I did see a blue 379 Pete that was an O/O. You are right, they are an intersting fleet with unique equipment! Ray

Ray, I did a google search one day looking for Peterbilts and this first pic was one of the images displayed. It grabbed hold of my eyeballs like a starvin dog on a hambone and wouldn't let go. As far as I can tell, these are the exact same truck, except for the numbers on the hood and sleeper and the name on the door. I don't know which company was on there first. The Triton pic I found several months after the Mullen version. Like you said, most of what I have seen were KW's. I wish they had a photo gallery of their fleet/equipment on their site. Les

Nice Pete's! Sure beats the T-800 that are running around Ontario. Thanks for posting this, I've never seen a Pete like that before! Ray
