Here is the beginning of a master that I am building for a Australian SAR in 1/16th, and how I have done the basic's First, get the bonnet/hood and chop it into parts Then cut all the fillets to make the slopping bonnet, and the centre when it is assembled it will look something like this Now the fun starts, because the centre has been filleted it makes the bonnet appear frog eyed, this is easy fixed by add the same amount to each guard, like this next is to shorten the bonnet/hood to suit, you can see how much I have chopped out here Now the air intakes have to be done, it is very important to get this right, otherwise it will not sit rightI did make a mistake when I calculated the difference, and missed by 8 mm, so had to go back and fix it, when the intakes are cut out they should look like this Looks alot better when it has primer on it, and should look like this I have mounted the bonnet/hood with styrene, which has replaced the grill, this makes it easier to cast when it is done The 1/4 guards are next, as well as all the mounting hardware, and battery boxes Will up date this soon

I done a little more today on the SAR, mainly making the single headlight bezel instead of the kit one I will cast the master so I have 4, I am actually thinking of casting these in the bonnet, but they would be a pain to paint This will also show how much I have chopped out of the sleeper the sleeper is finished , but forgot to take a picture of it,I removed all the rivet detail and replaced it with new detail ....

You are one brave soul chopping up a 1/16 scale Kenworth. More so because that particular one in the metal glow blue plastic was never reissued. Impecable work.

I must admit, the plastic in these metal glow kits is .... not as good as the others, in fact it is a bit on the brittle side, I never really liked the metal glow kits, but I do like taking a saw to them
