Yes that is what Scot was talking about. The most common name for that (at least around my area) is Zacklift. I had already though of doing that one for this build. By the way Shuvlhd69 yours looks really good.

I like the ideas posted here, especially assigning a number to the members participating in this build. As for using the same truck for this, ie. the Freightliner D/D kit, that might be a little hard for some of our overseas members to do. Keep in mind companies such as Swift have several different types of trailers and are consistently rotating new tractors into their fleet and liquidating their older ones from everyday use. When I worked for Swift we had FLD 120's, Argossys, Volvos, and even some Freightliner Classic rigs. Swift also used several different types of trailers. From dry vans to car carriers to flatbeds, there was a wide range of trailers that were used. Basically, we want to keep this build open to as many members who want to participate and we don't want to regulate the build to just a certain tractor or trailer combo. The more choices we make available, the more participants and the more fun and diverse this build can become. Hope this makes some sense.

Yep...been to that terminal a few times. My main route took me up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Was stationed out of the Ocala, Florida shop for quite awhile. Swapped driving duties for mechanic duties myself and transferred to the Selkirk, NY auto Rail division. They ran the Sterlings up there mostly. Once in awhile we'd get an Argossy with the covered trailers to work on, but those were few and far between. The Auto Rail division was sold from my understanding and the Selkirk terminal ended up shutting down. Closest terminal to me now is out in Syracuse.
