Guys, I'm at a crossroads right now with the decal business.
both printers are back in Japan for repairs and the latest one I just got is now needing repair. If there is any debris in the paper it will screw up the head.
That's where I'm at right now with several orders to fill. It is getting too costly to send these in for repairs--total cost for shipping and repairs runs me about $650 each printer. I've already shelled that out about 2 months ago and fixing to shell out again for both printers.
I am looking at a new printer (different altogether) but it's not a cheap investment. (mainly because I don't have the money right now). Not to mention the fact that ALPS ceased printer manufacturing in 2010 and supposed to cease cartridge production in 2015.

this leaves me with 2 options--drop the money for the new printer or close the store.

Jerry, good luck with your printers mate, sorry iI can't help. Can you or any others guys suggest some decals for AMT short hauler kit.? Not very keen on the ones in the kit.

Rod, The options are limitless in the store. Are you wanting stripes or logos? Almost any stripe can be adapted to almost any truck. I do have some options for the race hauler that I will add once I'm back to printing.

Just a quick update......still waiting on the ALPS to return from Japan and I've gotten approval for the NEW printer I've been looking at. Now waiting on samples back from the manufacturer for my approval before we can close the deal.

The printers FINALLY made it back from Japan!!!!! Lots of orders to catch up on plus waiting on the samples to come in for the new printer.
Once I'm caught up and working with the new system--- LOOK OUT!!!!!

Just a teaser on things to come hopefully by the end of the month.....Home Hardware, Pirkle, TSMT, Bandag Bandit, Empire Transit Mix, Sunoco (from the original kit), Michigan Mach. Movers (from the original lowboy kit), and who knows what else......

Here's the latest and greatest.................
New print system is due to ship out this week.....first payment is due upon receipt and set up. ....also have to have insurance due to cost (required by the bank), that initial payment is due as well..........
I am working with someone on the HO stuff to make sure it's scaled correctly.
Also working on 1/64 scale,
will be adding more in the 1/32 and 1/16 scales
Print time will be cut by about 99%, ink (not actually ink) costs will be cut by about 75% (will have a better idea once I've run thru a full set).
I may keep the ALPS for certain projects.
Even though the cost of the new system is pretty expensive for decals, I should not have to raise the price of the decals.
I do hope to be up and running within the next 2 weeks, providing the severe weather in the US doesn't hinder delivery.

To sum it all up, I won't have any more downtime like I did recently, turnaround will be a lot better, and I will have more time to work on even more stuff!!! (as if I don't have enough)

I wish to thank everyone for their support since I took over almost 4 years ago and look forward to do my best to contribute to this hobby.

I also want to thank my "unofficial staff" of spokesmen and the R & D department (the guys taking pics for me). I would name them, but I'm afraid I would leave someone out.
