This is the first posting I've done in a long while because of the tight schedules and model shows. This posting deals with two model cats which I have been working on for some time. The first is the Cat and Arch which now sit at Camp 6 Logging Museum in Tacoma Wa. and the second is the Cat which I learned the Art of Cat skinning way back when I was 15 years old. The models have been heavily modified to represent the Protos in every detail and also in appearance.
Both Cats started out as AMT D8-H's and were heavily modified onto what they are now. After they were finished I gave them and over all shot of Cat Yellow and the weathered them down with Pottery acrylic, Model acrylic and Calligraphy Ink.
The arch being pulled by the first cat was a unit used to keep the ends of the turn up off the ground when being skidded to the landing, to keep from gouging up the skid roads and also cut down on the friction of the drag. When they were being used they came in two types Tracked and wheeled. The tracked being most predominate.
