Okay Guys, I've gotten enough done for another update. Here the body is on the chassis the dump body is just under 18 "s long. the front axles painted dark blue as will be the rest of the chassis and parts of the cab. the rear axles and springs the chassis I still have a lot of parts to add to it. But I thought it would be easier to start the weathering before I added any more parts. the dump body painted with non buffing steel metalizer. I hope to be getting my pollyscale flat acrylics by the end of the week! I plan to use most of the holiday weekend to work on this. As always comments and ideas are welcome! Gator

Whilst I was mucking around this evening. Trying to figure out how and where to add two additional hoist cylinders. I couldn't resist doing a mock up. Here are the results. The unpainted parts between the wheels are a fuel tank where it needs to be mounted. And between the front drive axles a mount for another hydraulic ram. The last shot is with the cab just propped up on the front of the chassis. As always comments and ideas are welcome! Gator

A big truck on eight big wheels. The kind I like best. It´s shaping up nicely. I like the floor of the dump body. No straight and even plastic sheet but live like twisted and beaten sheet of steel. Hope you what I mean, my English has its limits.

But more when someone recognizes the look I am trying to achieve. Gator

Coming aong nicely! I also like the realistic dump box floor, big as these trucks are they sure take a pounding in service and you've replicated that look well. As for the excavator I think you'll need to build a wee bit bigger one to load this beast!

Gator, this is one really nice build you have here, I don't think this thing will fit on my low-boy. Maybe the dump body ha ha. you said the dump body measures just under 18". That's about all the distance my lowboy has. This is some really nice work. I like it very much. I like how the tires look so real with the blue wheels along with the weathering of the dump body.

Thanks Guys, For all of your comments and ideas. I am still working on it but sporadically, due to other issues. However I am working on fabricating a couple of add on pieces. But you will just have to wait and see what they are. But I think you will like them. Well I'm out for now. Going to go watch the UFC.

Greetings Gents, Tis time for another update, I've already mucked up one attempt to post this. So this is attempt #2. In an attempt to add some more real life contractor and or Manufactures modifications. I have remodeled the front bumper making it twice as tall. I have also make a push/rollcage structure for it. And I have added an additional cab protection screen. There is also one more modification I have not done yet The tailgate and all it pieces! I got the idea for these modifications from several sources. One of which is some photos posted on the web by vinceput, who is another model builder. public.fotki.com/VincePutt/semi_t....erencem-87.htmlpublic.fotki.com/VincePutt/semi_t....m-86.html#mediaI still have to build the rear support for the push bar, and if you look closely you can see where the top rear edge of the push bar will come into contact with the upper part of the dump body. I hope you like what you see. As always comments and Ideas are welcome! Gator

Those contractors! Just like the custom bike builders - they gotta change everything! I like these additions, a lot of real life equipment gets "owner modified" to suit the job.
