Thank you very much for your kind comments. Now I have to deal with another problem. Replacing the original in-line 6 engine by the CT 3408 changed some dimensions. The Revell´s 3408 has much shorter transmission and the engine itself is a lot shorter. This resulted in a situation where the shifter is behind the tranny. See the picture to get what I mean Also the gap between the engine and the firewall is too wide: Even though everything fits well in the real truck, the model is somewhat different. Is it the short transmission? Is it the radiator shroud that should be more bulky? The location of the cab is given by the mounts on the frame. The engine must be aligned to the radiator. Maybe I can move the cab a bit forwards depending on the hood position. This is the top view on the front part: Any suggestions? Or should I leave it as it is? Comment welcome. Jarda

I would find the 16 speed from the Road Boss kit.I always thought the one that came with the 3408 was too small anyway. As far as the gap between th e engine and firewall goes. I think it wiil look fine once the intake tubing is installed.(I used to drive a Superliner with a 6 cylinder Mack engine and there was about a foot between the ngine and firewall.) steve

Considering all the pros and cons I decided to move the engine backward to get it closer to the cab. It is essential because of the breather pipe work and the turbocharger alignment. Therefore it is necessary to modify the radiator cowling. I combined two radiators to get a few extra milimeters. Not to make the radiator itself thicker, but to modify the cowling. The work is still in progress. These mock up pictures show the whole assembly. Now I have a bigger gap between the radiator and front of the engine but that does not bother me that much. It is going to look better when the belts are back in place. The transmission got backwards just a little bit. But it is a little better now and I think I am going to leave it this way. I also repaired the hood stripe. I grinded away the spoiled one and used a piece of plastic and Evergreen stock rods 0.5 mm to create a new one. I hope it is going to look okay once painted. Best wishes for 2012! Jarda

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. but the outlet on the passenger side of the turbo is the exhaust! Steve

Yes, I know that. The tube and toothpick is just a contemporary "axis" so that I know how close or how far the engine from the cab should be. It is gone by now. Jarda

Jarda, you do some incredible work. The detail is just amazing. What are you using for the fan and alt. belts, they alongwith every thing else look so real. Dave

Oh, no, no, no! I didn´t take it as an offence at all. I should have said that the funny looking thing was just a jig or whatever and that it did not belong to the model. I wanted to, but I was tired and the note has left my mind before I typed it down. Woooh... my English must be terrible. Sorry for that. I hope it makes some sense. Jarda
