Hello! For a Kenworth W 900 I'm looking out for a AMT Texaco tank trailer. On Round 2 homepage they show it with a chrome plated tank. Well, it's hard to find a dealer in Germany, who sells AMT kits, so I looked for it at the big modeling show in Jabbeke. Serval of those kits were offered, all arround 20 years old, but all kits had NO chrome plated tank. May it be, the older editions of this model hadn't have chrome plating, but the latest edition has? Regards, Martin

Martin, I believe that this kit has been issued before with the chrome tank.

Hi Jim!
I asked a dealer in Austria, who offers AMT. He please shall take a look into the box, if he has one in stock. Will see...

Good luck.
Be advised, the fit on this kit is pretty bad.

Well, You're right! But no other company offers such a wide range of models. Take a look to Revell or Italeri (US trucks, not european trucks): The range is boring.

AMT only did 2 of the tankers in chrome. The first was a "SUNOCO" markings trailer issued in 1971 kit # T512 then the most recent release in 2010 in the "TEXACO" AMT684. The trailer kit itself was issued numerous times through out the AMT lifeline.
T506 (1970) Original (Gulf oil co.) trailer shown on the box of the 352 peterbilt cabover. T512 (1971) Sunoco Chrome Tanker T531 (1975) 3rd issue (Gulf/Union 76) 6606 (1982) 4th issue (Union 76) 6687 (1985) 5th issue (Union 76) 6698 (1987) 6th issue (AMOCO) 30063 (1999) 7th issue (Texaco) Non Plated 31552 (2002) 8th issue (CCR Transport) AMT684/06 (2010) 9th issue (Chrome Texaco)

Hi Todd!
Thanks for enlisting the issues. So all the older kits offered here on shows or ebay are kits out of the 7th issue from '99. I'd never seen a plated one here. I'll looking out for the latest issue. It's possible to cover the tank with mirror foil, but thats not the same shining surface.
Regards,
Martin
