As promised here are a few pics of my KW restoration. I haven't done much yet, just some disassembly and chrome removal. Here is what I started with. Attachments:

Should be interesting. Might want to clean up those seams on the tanks, though.

Yeah, I glued them and put rubber bands on them to hold them tight. Have to see how they look after the glue sets.

Before and after sanding the tanks. I got the high spots out, but still being able to see the seams concerns me. Does anyone have any advice on what to use that would smooth the tank ends out? Attachments:

I figured out my seam issue. Here is one of the fuel tanks after a light coat of Squadron Green Putty. This shot is post sanding. I think one more light coat and some fine finish sanding and these will finally be ready for some primer. Attachments:

I'm not sure if it shows up very well in these shots, but I took some sandpaper to the edges of the frame to try to knock down the sharp edges. Attachments:

Looking good. I didn't realize that this was a 1/32 kit. Very cool.

Yeah, I've been out of building for a long time. I wanted to get my feet wet with this small scale build before I jump fully into my 1/25 W900. I haven't detailed a kit before, always been box stock or just a mix of extra parts. Trying to expand my skills. Without ruining the kit that cost more. I have other details planned for this little truck, but so far it's been a slow process. I have about 10 hours just in these two tanks and frame.

I'd love to put a trailer behind it, but I've had trouble locating one the correct scale.

Trailers in 1/32 are difficult to find. There is a fuel tanker that is sold with a Mack R-Series, and I think there were some van trailers available at one time or another. The T600 in my avatar is a Revell USA 1/32 kit with a Neway diecast trailer.
I'm assuming that you've checked eBay. Sometimes they show up there.

I have done some looking on eBay,but most folks on there are real proud of their stuff. Since I'm just getting back into it, I'm trying to keep costs down for now. I'm planning a company theme for this as my brother works for Southeastern Freight and this is a gift for him. I may try to build a set of custom doubles when I get more practice. For now I'm just kinda learning as I go.

After two coats of putty and plenty of sanding, I think this looks good enough for some primer. Attachments:
