This project was started recently as a cbp on neighbouring forum, has been the only project I have made much progress on lately with modelling time being limited. Based on photo seen on Hank's Truck Pictures, single drive Louisville tractor from the Kingsway fleet. "Short Hauler" frame shortened, 6 spoke wheels fitted. Kit engine used with manual transmission. Air intake opened up, molded on door handles & wipers removed for replacement with freestanding parts.

D shape fuel tanks made with half of kit tank, styrene sheet to build up rest of square portion, .010 styrene sheet wrapper. Additional .010 styrene sheet layers built up as required, styrene strip & channel for bands. Fastener details and air lines/wiring added to frame. Firewall details built up from styrene strip & shapes. Steerable wheels fitted, axle U bolts & shock absorbers added. Freestanding window cranks, door pulls added. Manual transmission stick from "snap" Pete 359 kit.

That's a nice looking Ford. Nice detail on the chassis and interior. Can't wait to see more of this build.

Thanks guys, comparing kit bumper to 1:1 photo showed.......surprise.......it didn't match! (Kit bumper is actually correct for some Louisvilles, just not the one I chose to build....... ) Kit part does provide a good starting point, .100 x .125 styrene strip laminated to bottom edge was rough cut then sanded to shape. Recessed area in centre was extended by milling with Dremel tool in drill press stand, this way kit bumper's oval slots could be retained. Fog light holes drilled & filed at outer ends of recessed area, bolt head details are from Tichy Train Group's selection of model railroad parts. Just inboard of passenger side fog light hole is section of 3/32" styrene rod glued into bumper, this is the very necessary Canadian feature of a block heater plug, square chrome lid will be attached after painting. Back side showing block heater cord to engine.

Thanks guys, next piece of the puzzle was battery box. 1:1 photo shows different box than kit part, .060 styrene sheet for basic box with checkerplate lid made from "snap" W900 kit drive axle fender. 1/16" square brass tube mounting brackets, Plaskit resin latches.

Quarter fenders are kit parts from leftovers box with all cast on detail removed & new freestanding parts made from 3/32" styrene tube, .040 rod and fastener details from Tichy Train Group. .010 black styrene represents the rubber flap portion which seals against trailer.
