Hi folks, new to this forum. Thought I would post up a few pics of my latest build. I am almost finished with it, just have a few more details to add like air hoses and maybe some mild weathering. I started with an AMT K123 kit, added a Detroit Diesel 8V92T engine, torsion bar suspension, spoke wheels, cab mounted exhaust and intake piping, late 70's side step ladders, rear cab window, and slam locks. The exhaust is from a W900 snap kit, as it is more to scale than the AMT kit exhaust. The intake tubing is scratch built to be more to scale for a later model than the kit pieces as well.

REALLY nice model! It looks like you beat me to the punch with an idea I wanted to try: combining the side panels from the Fruehauf box trailer kit with the nose, roof, and running gear from an Ertl Great Dane kit to create a Great Dane stainless steel trailer! It sure looks convincing! What did you use for paint?

It sure looks convincing! What did you use for paint? Thanks! I painted the roof and the top and bottom rails with "aluminum" silver rustoleum. Then I covered the "stainless" parts with bare metal foil to get the shine I wanted. Here is a scanned photo of the truck I was trying to replicate: I will be building the trailer in that photo in the near future as well.

I think saying "you NAILED it" is an understatement! Now I'm even MORE impressed with this beautiful model!

Thanks! It is actually the new AMT release, I got the torsion bar suspension from P&P resin works.
