With the suspension almost complete I could set the frame on all wheels. Unfortunately, a situation that I was afraid from the start, occured. The chassis leans forwards. The difference in height above the ground between front and rear is 4 mm. It would be okay if it was a model of frame and cab but with a load of timber it wouldn´t look good. Maybe it´s not clear from the picture but it´s very well visible for a naked eye. There´s more ways to fix it, each with its pros and cons. Cutting off the front axle and inserting a piece of plastic to compensate the height. Reworking the rear suspension to get more correct dimensions of parts. Or inserting pieces of plastic between rear axles and walking beams. This looks like the easiest way, there´s no need to cut anything. So, I did that.
It helped a little. Instead of 4 mm there´s 2 mm difference now. In a month or so I expect a delivery of new set of wheels with rougher thread on tires and they are supposed to be a little bigger. Maybe this helps too. Here´s a few pics of chassis and cab. No fenders this time as they wouldn´t hold without a glue or a chewing gum maybe. I modified the brake chambers brackets so they would more correspond to a real truck. The upper pair is before the modification, the lower pair is modified. Can somebody tell me what for is that tank behind the cab in this picture? Is it a part of water cooled brakes system or just another fuel tank? Thanks in advance, Jarda

Jarda, Great work here.I really like what you have done so far. The tank on the chassis behind the cab is most likely the water tank for the brake cooling system!

Jarda, The interior floor board looks fantastic! The scratchbuilt pedals look great. And the worn and peeling paint looks so realistic. My only question is the drivers seat. What year truck is this going to represent? I am pretty sure that air ride seats were a luxury and don't know when theyb started to be installed on a regular basis. I really like what you are doing to this one. Keep up the good work !! Yeah, I know the air ride seat kinda don´t belong there but I liked the idea of different seats for the driver and passenger. I thought maybe the driver could update his seat when the air ride became available. Also the turbo engine was probably not a factory option. But you know, you got me thinking about that and now I am half decided to change the seat for something closer to 1950´s era. Sorry, no pics today even though I am working constantly on the project. But I jump from one thing to another, so it´s a bit of progress here and little more done over there but nothing really worth posting yet. Jarda

Jarda, No problem about the pics. What you said about the owner having changed the seat did occur to me as well. On the suspension you added shims the the rear to drop the frame down a bit. What about shim between the front axle and the spring to lift the front end up that extra little bit?? I think you are doing a fantastic job on this. The floorboard look real as can be!
