Thank you very much for your comments. I was looking around the net to find more details about the logging trailer. And I found the feature that´s probably obvious to anyone involved in the logging transport. But it was new to me and I borrowed this idea from logging truck model experts. I am talking about the length compensator, the jinker if you prefer. Like this one... Mine looks like this... This is the difference between positions of the jinker with the tractor and trailer A) in the straight line and B) in the corner Some more photos... the timber in the kit is a bit short for my version. So, I tried my wife´s knitting-needles... I still need something longer. I will have to take a walk to a forest, I guess. I added yet another detail and that´s the bar across the frame that holds the trailer´s wheels.
Thanks for watching. Jarda

Thanks for the warning, Martin. I was already told that the real wood sticks might be too heavy fot the model. The weight is my big worry from the start because there is a lot of resin parts on the model. Things like engine, cab, fuel tank, water tank... well, the water tank is not a resin cast but it is quite heavy too. And I had to tear the dolly apart as I placed the springs too close to the wheels and there was no gap between those parts. The dolly is dismantled now. So, it´s a good opportunity to strengthen the axles somehow.Or not to use the load at all. Thanks anyway. Jarda

Hi Jarda! If You can see at the linked pic's, I'd reduced the load to only the half of a full load. On all my trucks and trailers I install metal axles. I had haved too much trouble with the plastic ones, because I carry them often to exhibitions and my car is a leafspring pick-up But I also wanna load the trucks with a reall looking freight, not with a fake. By the way: The models of the Czech Model Truck Team in Jabbeke were great! I think, You know some of the guy's. Martin

Yes, Martin, I know them all. I meet them at the local model shows and contests. I wish I had their skills and experience. I added the locking mechanism to the length compensator. It works, except for the springs. Another necessary detail is the nozzels that bring water to brake drums. I am not sure how the water lines should be routed. So, there´s another guess work going on here. Next time I hope to post some pictures of painted cab and frame. So far it was just surfacer and white base. I hope I won´t get into troubles with painting like I did with my London bus. Wish me luck. Till next time, Jarda

Jarda, I like all the small little details you are adding. The spring loaded catches etc. As for the paint on the wheels. Well the truck and trailer are made by different companies, so the paint maybe a little off, I don't think it is a big deal. Besides on a logger they would be pretty dirty anyway!

Great job on the weathering. Those AK Interactive pigments seem to work really well.

Jarda, By the looks of things .You have been busy on this project. I like the weathering, it looks very realistic. Including the wheels and tires! And yes I love heavy dirty dirty vocational trucks!! Oh and one more thing. There is nothing wrong with your model building skills or your attention to detail! be Well Gator
