All I can say is WOW! You put some seriuos work in the plumbing and weathering. And the details on the brake system raised the level even higher. Also the dump body is not just an average dump body. I really like what you do with your build. Top class work for an "inexperinced" model builder. Yeah, I would reduce the rust intensity on the frame a bit. The photos might be tricky but this kinda yells too much. Anyway, this looks like a very promising build. Looking forward to seeing more. Jarda

Mike, Your work is inspiring! I have a question for you. The tall thing on the side of the chassis. Is it meant to be the hydraulic tank? If so you might want to check to see if the dump body will still fit. On trucks like this. The hydraulic tank is usually hung from the chassis like the fuel tanks. Or it can be up where the hydraulic cylinder is between the cylinder and the cab. This type of tank has bit more of a complex shape. And is designed to fir in the cylinder box built into the dump bed. I hope this makes sense to you.
Oh on the heat gun. Good idea. But one must be very careful not to try to go too fast.Too much heat and you can ruin your model. I used a heat gun on a couple of my projects. And I need to experiment some more to get the right effect.

Hello You right that is oil tank for hydraulic system. Picture bellow shows how's Italeri solved the problem with the dump body. So I started search for some pictures with similar solution of hydraulic cylinder, and I dig that out. So I decided to go with this path. I already dry fit everything and looks fine. About heat gun you right. You have only one shot.

Mike, Glad I was wrong. But from the photos it did not look like it would work. The only thing I see on your dump bed. Is a couple of places where the dents go into the body or interior o f the dump bed. instead of out. If there was one to go in it would kost like be a smaller and sharper indentation. Like form the edge of a loader bucket hitting the side of the bed. But I love what you have going on here!

Hello There are few new pictures from my progress. I painted battery boxes, gas tanks and front wheels. I used Gunze paint MC218 Aluminium. I drilled holes on the steps, so now they look better. I also start working on the interior. Italeri details are quite cruel, especially dashboard. So it took a while but I think it was worth it. Between seats I scratch built control box, based on this picture. I presume that operate a dump body. CB radio has been added as well. Now I'm working on the cab. Clean the seam lines etc. Soon wiil be ready for first coat of primer. I have question. Anyone knows how hood looks from the inside. I can't find good pictures of that detail. Any ribbing or pads to reduce noise coming from engine. Part from Italeri looks like that Cheers Mike

Mike, You are doing a super job on this one. Yes the box in the center of the cab floor is the control to raise and lower the dump body. For the hood yes there would be some bracing molded into the fiberglass. At least one piece four to six inches wide running front to rear in the center of the hood. And near the rear edge about 2 or 3 inches in another brace running across the top of the inside of the hood and down the sides at least 3/4's of the way down. I hope you understand my explanation. And it is by no means correct. But more of a guess based on what I have seen over the years.

Are all of those detailing parts on your air and fluid lines scratch built? If so, mind making a tutorial or something about your process?
