Hi All, I`ve gone back in time to the 1950`s with a resin cab from AITM. At first i was going to mount it on a frame also form AITM but decided to scratch build one instead, the other going to another build. The frame is built form plastic card, the reat suspension is home made from resin castings , front axle is AITM altered to steer. A new radiator was made from card with the resin top fitted. The wheels & tyres are also from AITM , I added rims to the rear wheels & before fitting to the tyres sprayed a coat of primer filler to check for blemishes, Front tyres were drilled out to remove the resin backing & fron wheels glued in place with a bead of filler to hide any gaps. Fuel tanks are plastic tubing with end caps from card these were from a build wich ended up in scrap box some years ago. Don`t throw anything away!!!. The cab went under the saw to open the hood, I think the doors will also be opening as well. I have done more to this model than i intended, but thats how it goes some times. This will pull a lowboy with a cat d8 load . The D8 came to me in bits with no tracks so they will be have to be made, this will go in another build section though. Thanks for looking. Graham.

Graham, That looks like a nice project. And you are certainly off to a good start. I will be watching your progress. As for AITM's products, I have not gotten any of his conversion kits as of yet. But I do have the Winch tower and several sets of wheels. Looking at your kit. I thinkit is time for me to get a couple of the conversion kits from Dave.

What a great project Graham! Nice work on the frame. I purchased the C500 kit from AITM and the quality is excellent.

Hello
Project looks very interesting. I will be follow the progress on forum. I have got just two questions. What about quality of AITM products (no air pockets etc)? I gonna buy cab for kenworth C500. And the second question is How did you make hinges for hood?
Regards Mike

Thanks for the comments. Mike, The hinges i sourced from a local shop that sells bits for dolls houses, you can also search for miniature hinges online. Hope this helps. Another update shortly. Graham.

Graham, Excellent work so far! I like what you have done, especially thinning the cab walls, and the opening doors and hood.

Hi. The interior is nearly finished, working of pics i found on the internet, I used the seats supplied but made new bases, The dash was modified with a new instrument panel & a parking brake added. I printed dials on white decal paper, made bezels from wire & glued these to clear acetate then painted the face green leaving the dial faces clear this was then glued on the dash after the decal is applied. cab ,doors & hood waitng to be painted, hope the weather gets better soon to do this. Back soon Graham.

Great looking instrument panel. What green did you use to make the Mack interior green?
