Hi all: I retired after 45 years as an over the road truck driver. Now I have all day and night to work on the model trucks that got neglected for a lot of years. Hard to put a model together in a tractor-trailer. It doesn't work, ask me I tried. Glad to have found and joined a forum that is just about trucks. Been in or around trucks all my life and is about all I build or mostly rebuild is trucks in 1/25th scale. Have several projects on the work bench, well actually work bench is more of a mess than anything. Jeff a.k.a Longhaul

B.S. Express As to where I drove- There's an old Johnny Cash Song that about sums it up. The song title is " I've been everywhere". Well really I have been in all 48 states and every major city in those states. Also been thru quite a bit of Canada. I loved running anything south of the Mason-Dixon line especially anything into Texas. Didn't care to much about going out to the big cities in the Northeast ( i.e. NYC ----- Boston---- Philly---- ect ) Give me a trip to El Paso or Larado or San Antonio any time. Also loved running thru Death Valley between Needles Ca and Barstow Ca and on down into L.A. As to what I drove, Just about every kind of truck from Ford to Petes. But I prefered the Freightliner Century Class Condo. A lot of guys wont agree with my choice of over the road truck so we will just say it is personal preface, everybody has one. Who I drove for, several big companys. I did a couple of years with a company that has big orange trucks. A company out of Omaha who has ugly blue trucks. And the greatest company I ever worked for is out of Lincoln Ne. and they have bright red Freightliners. Yes your right there is a great bunch of guys on this forum, as I hung around in the weeds for a few weeks before I decided to come on board.

hey Dieseldoc Know what you mean about Schneider Got yelled at for making there truck run to. No the red freightliners in Lincoln Ne belong to Crete Carrier Corp. Out of the 3 it was and probley still is the best to drive for. Would still be with them if hadn't fallen and crushed a vertebrate in my back. With that and a bad boute of arthitas, Doctor said thats all. Work bench is a mess because some dummy didn't put up the fake ceiling the right way. Got to get that fixed this weekend, but dont think I will hire myself to do it this time, Think I will let the wife do it, it will probley get done right this time.
