Another oldie but goodie that I can't wait to see completed. AMT sure had the knack for producing some neat old trucks back in the day, didn't they? How many of these old trucks do you see on the road nowadays? Keep us posted on this project.

P&C Foods used to run White 9000s back in the 1960s (I think). They still have one that they use for promotional events. It usually shows up here in Chittenango for the Oztravaganza & Parade. If I remember I'll get some pics.

Hess also used to run these trucks almost exclusively as well. I still have 2 of the first Hess trucks ever issued based on that chassis. The trucks have working lights and an old style trrailer. I remember when I got that truck I knew I wanted to be around these trucks and the feeling has never left. You're right though Tim, these trucks used to be seen all over the place. Talk about memories!

Well, whichever it is, I got both hoods from Chis, but this is the one I'm starting with.

another pic.... with the hood being shorter, had to relocate cab mounts. I cast the 5 hole budds with the old AMT Firestones, as I think they are a little more period correct.

Looking good so far. Keep us posted on your progress. Are you putting a sleeper on this truck?

just wondering what you think of the 4000 conversion. Have you come across any problems we should know about.
