I decided to post this thread after getting hosed on an E-Bay deal earlier this week. In this thread we can post id's of those on E-Bay who do not deal fairly with buyers, or even sellers for that matter. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I bid on 4 kits from the same seller on E-Bay this past week and won all 4 auctions. The kits were OOP Monogram Nascar kits and went for very cheap considring what they usually go for. The most I paid for any of the kits was $12.49 and that was for an Elliott Coors T-Bird. Anyways, when i contacted the seller about combined shipping for the 4 kits, I was informed each kit would cost $9.50 to ship and that was within the same state! When I e-mailed them back and explained my concerns, I was informed, and I quote, "Be realistic, you got a bargain." So, I'll pay this outrageous shipping in order to keep my ratings good, but I can see my days on E-Bay coming to a close. This was the second instance in less than a month where I got screwed. So, with that being said, if you have had an issue with someone on E-Bay, post their id's and a SHORT synopsis on what went wrong. This way we can all avoid those who like to rip others off on there. The number seem to be growing daily.

2 E-Bay id's to stay away from:
"jennibla1" - Shipping rates inflated to help cover the cheap price the kits went for.
"highgearhobbies" - Filed an "Unpaid Bidder Claim" after I sent payment AND recieved the kit in question. Kit was also damaged and not represented accruately in description.

I'm not defending this person but did they offer combined shipping? If not and I wanted to buy more than one item, I then look else where that does offer that. As for the high shipping, I do not like that either. I just do not bid with sellers that are overpriced shippers. It does not make them a bad seller if we bid and complain later. Remember....Buyer Beware!!!!

I contacted the seller prior to bidding on the kits and he did inform me that he would combine shipping. It's also against E-Bay policy to over inflate shipping charges simply because your item did not sell for as much as you'd like. That's what Reserve Bidding is for.

OK....then you can negate the deal with him I would think. I didn't know this 'til you gave more information. There are other things that are "not allowed" on ebay too. Such as the opening bid and "Buy It Now" being the same price. The over inflated shipping is getting to an every day occurence. Only problem is ebay does not police itself. We turned in a seller who was using multple accts/user id's and was bidding up his own auctions. He is still doing business. We did contact everyone that was bidding on his stuff and let them know. Some contacted us back and thanked us. I wonder now if that is why the bidders id is kept a 'secret' until bidding is over?! We also will never do a Pre-order anymore. You pay on Paypal and over 30 days later the item does not show up. You deal with a bad seller and you are screwed....."it's over 30 days and Paypal will no longer help you!" Overall though, we have had 100 good transactions for every 1 bad. Pretty good I would say.

I agree with Locoengr, out of all the transactions I've had on E-bay, (well over 100) only 2 problems. Not too bad if I say so.

i agree with this thread,we need 2 keep an eye out 4 each other on e-bay rip offs.my budget 4 modelling is pretty limited so i can`t waste it on low lifes who just want 2 make an extra buck out of me.locoengr mentions that e-bay doesn`t police itself so we have 2 police it among ourselves.that`s why nyo3ss has started this,so we can give each other a heads up on "people" 2 stay away from.locoengr also said he turned in seller 4 doing the wrong thing yet did not name him.on this thread u can!it`s the same when i`m driving around & someone`s complaing on the uhf about someone not paying the right rates yet won`t name them!why not name them 2 let everyone know they are not doing the right thing. here u can !

The thing about E-Bay is they won't take action against any of their "Power Sellers". That's the issue I ran into with E-Bay. If you file a complaint against one of their frequent sellers you'll stand a snowball's chance in hell of getting any satisfaction, trust me. So, I'm of the midset that if E-Bay won't act on someone's rotten practices just because they sell a ton of crap on there, then I'll find other ways to let my fellow hobbysists know who to avoid. This is a great way to let others know who to stay away from on there.

The problem I had with E-Bay Australia is that all I've ever done is registered for the time when I may have wanted to buy something, about 6 months ago I go onto EvilBay Australia find something I want but do U think I could get it NO it turns out someone had stolen my Id and used it to buy a real car part then didn't pay for it, when I spoke the EvilBay Oz they said that when I pay the seller I'll be reinstated the only problen is, is that the part that bought was for an American car, I drive a Jap here in Oz and the buyer was based in the U.K. , so go figure on that one. Oh by the way I have been banned from EvilBay fof good unable to correct anything even my reputation. All I can say about that mob is 'em Not

I had heard that some of the sellers were charging outlandish shipping charges to make up for the "bargain" price on the item. Most everything I buy comes from the groups or boards. Have always made out real well that way.
