Here's a conversion kit that deserves a good review. It's the International C-O F4090A Super Transtar conversion kit sold by Sour Kraut's Model Truck Parts. I've wanted to build a model of this truck after I saw pix of the brochure on Hank's Truck Pix.

The real truck has a taller cab, and comes standard with the DD 12V-71 engine, 13 spd transmission, 44,000# rear susp, and a 1,200 square inch radiator. It was built to pull turnpike doubles or other heavy combinations like Michigan trains.
The conversion kit is meant to be used with either of the old Ertl International Transtar kits(C-O 4070A or Transtar 2). It complete with a well detailed 12V-71 engine, taller cab(sleeper version) and grille, dual exhaust, larger air cleaner, the correct larger radiator, shift tower, new crossmembers/engine mounts, exhaust pipes and elbows, bumper, along with some other minor parts as well. If using the Transtar 2 as a donor kit, it also has the appropriate air cleaner mount.
The castings are excellent. Practically flawless. ;DAll are kit thickness, with virtually no flash at all, except for some very minor flash on the engine parts, like the dual blowers. All parts are molded in light gray. Here are some pix. Its worth the money in my opinion.
Here is the cab and trim, plus bumper:
Now for the engine:
..and finally the other parts like the stacks, radiator, engine mount crossmembers, etc:
I think this will build into a model one can be proud of. You can buy the cab without the engine, or buy the engine by itself as well for other projects. For those who purchase it, I hope you enjoy it. I know I will when I get to building mine.
