Was watching the news the other night about all the Earthquakes, floods, the Hurricane back east and the eruption of Mt. Etna in Italy. The eruption lit a light so I started digging through some old photographs and found the following. These pictures were taken back a few years after mount St Helen's in Washington states let everyone here in the Pacific Northwest she was still around. This truck belonged to Weyerhauser at the Tuttle river division and was caught in the line of fire of the mountain when she exploded. The rigging and trailer were blown completely of of her by the explosion and debrie hitting and the stump was permanently wedged into the cab of the rig. Its hard to believe this truck was 15 miles from the mountain sitting on a landing on top of a ridge. Luck was in the air as the logging crew and the driver were not at work at the time! Mother nature can be a beautiful lady but like all women, she has a temper beyond comprehension at times.
