Hey guys. I just picked up the "Australian Truck" , not knowing that this is a right drive. My first thought is that I may use the dash from an old KW W900 or something of that sort..i have a few of these that would be happy to donate a dash..Looking at the instructions Im thinking I could put the steering arm on either side, and could probably flip the steering box. Has anyone done this? I know they make this truck as a standard US truck, but I bought this version wanting that Roo bumper and the extra lights to build this as a heavy wrecker

G,day mate , ive done a couple of amt trucks to our steering . Its easy just measure where on the chassis the box is now and mark the other side and just glue it on but back the front , you will have to turn the steer axle around so the pitman arm lines up with hole . At first you will think this is not going to work but as you do it , it will fall into place .

I think the hard part will be the dash..Im betting i can find a dash in my stash that will be close enough..A western star buff will probably see the differences right off, but to me truck dash boards are all a lot alike.
My plan is to build this as a day cab and install the "Can Do" wrecker bed on it. I have an AMT Western Star that I think I will mount a "fred's" bed on, painting them to match each other. The freds bed, and AMT are both rebuilders but not glue bombs so it should work out well.
