Guy's First of all...May I take this opportunity and wish everyone a Happy and prosperous New Year (2008) Well.....I started my new project a few weeks back..just some layout(s) and right after Christmas..dug the glue and the body filler back out..and away I go. I just took sometime away from sanding..and thought I would post the first pictures of the work in progress. It will be a DM600 series triaxle cement mixer..kit-bashing (2) of the Mack DM600 tractors..and (1) IH Mixer...lots of scratch build as expected. Truck will be modeled after an actual unit for a local road building contactor. As work progressess..I'll keep everyone up to date. Lots of work to go..... As always...any and all comments/feedback are welcomed. Thanks......Kurt McLucas

It looks like you're off to a good start ;D. I'll be watching this one as I plan to build an Autocar mixer in the future, so I want to get an idea of what you'll be going through with this truck.

Jerry/Ray...
Yes the Mack has come a little further along..these pictures were at an earlier stage. I changed a few things already..shortened the frame a "tad"..started on the drive train..got a 300 maxidyne engine finally from the Mack Cruiseliner kit...modified it...a few odds and ends here/there. I'll post some pictures here shortly....

The insanity continues..... Just wanted to post a few pictures on the WIP. The project is coming along slowly..biggest hurdle to overcome was getting the Mack Cruiseliner kit, to obtain the 300 Maxidyne engine with intercooler..this updated version will compliment the build as an early 85-86 year. The interior is also being updated using the R-model dash and a few added accessories. New hinges were made to give the hood a better fit to the cab. Work on the lift axle is almost completed... Any and all comments are always welcomed..Happy building. Kurt McLucas

Looking good. Just wondering if you are doing anything with the front bumper assembly? It appears, from the pictures, that the hood will fail to open with that in place. That was just a thought when I looked at the pics.

Spider...
Yes..the hood does fully open/function. Color cobination will be black chassis, white mixer body, and red for the cab and hood assembly.
As for the engine...It's going to pop with Alclad gold/pale gold..some accents in Alclad chrome and gloss black, along with all the decaling as I can get.
Thank you for the nice comment....

thanks for the update. I like the "subtile" changes made. The rear fenders are a breath of fresh air compare to the regular one. You are truly one of the master builders of the day.
