8-)It's funny when you bring out a started project after a while and it's only then you find the mistakes.

I turfed the scratch cab, I am just not there yet , ...hey is that Pete cab on a KW... ?
Yes it is. I am going to "refit" to a KW .
It's a long way to the top (cab) from the ground, need to lower this unit above grade (frame) a couple inches, not quite proto right. I think I might be in trouble with the steering column as I might have the steer box to close to cab for a setback, I'll figure it out. ;D
That air tank is in the wrong spot, need to make room for the tracking bars, but you can not beat a rubber block suspension. (my design based on Hendrickson photos). You could say very "articulate".
I am rebuilding the front push/pull bumper.
The winch and tower is still a go. I need to talk to Dan (DMTW) about a transfer case setup.
In the near future, this is going to be a beefy KW C500 78-84 oilfield bedtruck.
If anyone has some pointers, please comment.
Kit pieces so far:
rear ends
steer axle
drive shaft U-joints
front leafs and trunnions
rear walking beams only
KW rad surrond from Alaskan Hauler? piece from swap meet grab bag?
butterfly hood from same?
six frame crossmembers.
Pete cab from trade on this forum
Made parts:
frame & couple crossmembers
rad front and louvers
rear suspension trunnions
all rubber block components and walking beam trunnion
all wheels and front tires cast with others originals
rear tires my castings
front fenders
front bumper
winch from Allen Smith, plumbing, accs, and structure by me
and lots more to come in future.
