Hi there. My name is Tim and I'm from Australia. I'm glad I found this forum and its inspired me to get back into some truck modelling. I haven't done any trucks for about 5 years - been on a race car modelling kick. Anyway - there are some awesome builds here. I'll post some of mine soon. In the mean time - here is a Kenworth T904 I went for a ride in on my last holiday in the Norhtern Territory. Its specced to pull three trailers through the middle of Oz. It was brand new and went like a rocket.

Nice pic there rugeT950. Not to sound dumb. (I'm new with the OZ truck look) Why does the hood on that truck look so dang tall? Looks like the has been raised about 15 inches. Are all the trucks that huge, looking or is that customer order? OK if they all are that tall then why? What's the purpose? What is the overall height of your trucks over there?

Hi Cliff, the cab is raised(the battery boxes are underneath it) to get more air flow for cooling the engine and also to allow a much larger radiator to be fitted due to the extreme heat in OZ,hence the large grille/bonnet.

Welcome aboard. Hey guys, look at the size of those headlights. Those aren't your standard sealed beam or halogen lights!

Thanks for the help Mullet - I didn't have a good answer for that one. Here is the link to Kenworth Australia www.kenworth.com.auYou can download brochures for the T905 and T950 from there which will give a bit of info.

I've driven frozen lakes in Labrador. Not all it's cracked up to be, kind of boring doing 28 mph for miles. Driving across Toronto in rush hour traffic...now that's a challenge :-)

Here's another beast I took a pic of at a Roadhouse somewhere north of Alice Springs in NT. There's a few tyres to check on this one...
