Hey folks, how hard is it to make a 359 pete from revell into a 359 EXHD? thanx for all the help! Dave.

Boy Dave...I'm not sure. It could turn into a project I think as I believe the chassis would have to be altered as well, including the front suspension. Probably the hardest would be adding sheet styrene to the hood and making it look good. If anyone has experience with this though I hope y'all speak up because I would also be interested in this conversion. I dunno, but I thought someone had cast a Pete extended hood in resin...

I would not use a snap pete for a build like that, the RG 359 would make it easier and I think you can buy the long hoods for them. The only way I would attempt it, is by scratchbuilding the frame rails into a "u" channel, the snap pete has a "L" channel. I'm not saying it's impossible just that you might get better results using a different base kit. As far as the hood I would not just add to the end of it, I would section it in two places. About 1/4" from the back and down the center because adding to the back edge would make it too wide.

I believe spaulding trading and shipping carries a resin extended hood for a reasonable price.
