I would like to hear of the biggest model that you have built or have seen built at one of the shows ,contests or meets that some of our members frequent. With raldram planning this 1:25 model of the Demagg AC 665 mobile crane which is HUGE, I would like to hear about other such builds that have been seen around the world by our members since I personally have not gotten the pleasure to attend such events yet. Thanks.

For me I have a freightliner dual axle pulling three C F trailers on the bench for an eBay rebuild. I also have planned a road train with two 40 foot dumps and another one with two 40 foot reefers.

I call my 1975 Chevy 4x4 the biggest model I ever built because there no part on the truck that I have not had apart or rebuilt. The biggest models I have seen are U.S. Battleships at a museum in Oklahoma City, The biggest one is about 15 feet long.

Biggest models I ever built were the 1/8th scale Monogram models. IROC Camaro, 63 Corvette, and Pontiac Trans Am.

This photo was supplied by a reader of Truck Model World when i posted a letter in the mag a few months ago looking for photos and reference material on the crane i'm building. This one is a 1:12 scale Liebherr LTM11000D, this is a fully working model (as can be seen by the control box behind it and was completely scratchbuilt over a period of two years.

Now that is what I am talking about.... THAT is a model, looks like it would take two poeple to carry it. But where do you put it when you are done? Thanks, Jack

That is huge, I'll bet it has it's own parking space in the garage.

It's an absolute monster isnt it. i havd sent a letter into the editor of TMW asking for some help from the european community as i know modelling construction equpiment is huge over there, i got a reply from this guy who unfortunately doesn not have a computer so everything he sends is via snail-mail. He's included some great reference material for my build and he sent this photo of one of his too, personally, i'd hate to have to move it, i hope he motorised the wheels so it can drive itself instead of carrying it.

A piece like this would most likely be placed in the lobby of the Headquarters of the company it was made for. I can only imagine the price to make it and ponder at the price it would sell for. Staggering I am sure. I built a model of Peterbilt Truck for Schlumberger Well Service in Farmington, New Mexico. It was supposed to go in the lobby but ended up in District Managers office on his book shelf.
