Hi all. I'm comming to the hobby from a different angle. I like to take die cast trucks and "kit bash" em. I've been modelling ever since I was a kid but as I gerw older there wasn't enough time. Wife, job, kids, blah, blah, blah. But still loved model trucks so I began to collect die cast trucks. That was ok for a while. I'd get a new truck, look at it a while and then put it in the display case. Ho Hum... There must be more to life . So one gay I was looking at one and I though... I'd like to change it a little. I took an old ford and made a head ache rack for it with some brass. Soldered it up and it looked not too bad. Whell then I took it a step further. I got an old chevy stake truck made by Ertl cheep from eBay and I took to rebuild it. I tore it down, stripped the paint and build a dump truck outta' it. The bed was built from brass and painted Gulf Oil colors.

Now I can't stop. I still don't have any time but to heck with it. I'm having fun. Thanks for letting be be a part of the group. Scott

First, welcome Scott and thanx for sharing the pics! I'm not the 'boss' here but my vote says that you belong. Granted, it isn't "plastic" but when the customizing/bashing comes in to play, well....that's different and I like your skills. Once again, welcome and MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Bruce

You'll fit in here just fine Scott. it's great to have you here and if thee's one thing I've noticed, more and more modelers are kitbashing die cast cars and trucks to get a certain replica they can't get elsewhere. Jump right in and join the fun. You'll love it here and we're glad you're here as well!

And that was the boss speaking!!!!!It is not specified here that it is strictly plastic truck modeling so you fit in. Our intrests are the same "Trucks". Just because the base of you model starts out as a diecast does not mean it is not modeling. It appears thatyou put out a lot of effort into taking them apart and reworking them to your liking. This requires scratch building skills to acomplish from what I have seen in this thread. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more of it.
