What if each one of us wrote an Email to Revell of Germany asking them to reissue the BILL SIGNS kit, or any other kit for that matter, would they listen to the people who would buy it or just tell us tuff luck, go pay the price " THE BIG MORON " riley60** wants us to pay?? I was just wondering where they get the thought to repop a kit. Model King will do AMT, do they have to buy" the rights to copy" and molds and legal stuff like that? That could get real expensive....if they had to.
And while I am at it. What if we wanted something like the new Peterbilt 387 or my personal favorite the Kenworth T 2000 to be made into kit form. How would we go about that. The Volvo was a nice change when it came out. I do not have the patience like Tim Ahlborn to put together a revised model out of three to four different kits to make it look right. And I do not have the funds to purchase kits to bash like that. Hey ,just a thought to throw out there and maybe get some insight on how this stuff comes together, any info is cool......

Better pack a lunch! Theres a lot a different answer's in just a few of those questions
Intially ( Not the only one)Model King did it because he came up with the cash that AMT wanted to run a certain amount of kits. They were Model Kings Kits and then he decided who to distribute them too (I beleive Stevens International did this also) Then I heard that once Model King had proven that the re pops would sell AMT got a little jealous and started re poppinig some the older Kits that they wouldnt previously release. And then it became harder and more expensive for Model King to get the kits that he wanted reissued.
Newer kits are harder to create because of the cost of new tooling and the licensing.
I would think thata re-issues still require some royalties for the licensing also
I think Scale Auto comes up with a survey every so often of the top ten models that the Modeling community would like to see and publishes it.. I know they have done this in the past, I am not sure what they do anymore since its not really a magazine for Truck Builders so I dont spend my money on it or even very seldom pick it up.
Thats about all I can speculate in an effort to answer some of your questions. They are good questions Hopefully someone else here can confirm or deny the information I have provided
Just my opinion and you know what they say!!!! Opinions are like !@#)$_$_@# everybody has one.

All I can say is it's worth a try. If they get enough emails then it may work. They do have the mold so why not. They repopped the 359 Peterbilt, The Peterbilt Fire Truck, The auto hauler trailer, The Alaskan Hauler which was the Canadian Hauler. So it may be worth a shot on the Bill Signs Truck. But again what does it hurt if they don't. A little time typing them and hitting the send button?

:oProblems with reissues sometimes is that the manufacture sees what the older kits go for and ups the prices, its already tough enough to have to put out 60-70 bucks for a current kit let alone see them raise them again. I myself would like see more of the 1/25th heavy 6 axle trailers reissued at a reasonable price as you cant touch one for under 250 bucks if you find one not to mention the insane prices for an AMT reefer, even the darn Italeri american reefers are up in price to around 70 bucks. Its plastic and putting out 100-200 for a oob kit to build is just rediculas. Hobbies are supposed to be relaxing not putting me in stress on how to pay for a kit.

What I don't understand is what makes this kit so special outside of the fact that it is a day cab. Other than that it seems to me at least it is the same as any other pete kit they have out there.

Other than that it seems to me at least it is the same as any other pete kit they have out there. extra chrome (not that we wanted it), big bore (larger diametre)exhausts, wider tyres/road tyres/super-singles on the front, different rear suspension (heavier duty so i've been told) and the rear two axles are spread further apart (side pictures will show what appears to be a tool locker between them)

Shoot, at this point I'd be happy with any new kits on the shelves, new molds or repops.

I recently bid on a bill signs that had a lot started on it. Once the price got close to $ 180.00 with shipping, I started to think whoa that is alot of money for this kit. To think I came across one about a year ago for $190.00 buy it now sealed in box.( Well MORON got that one.) OH WELL......

this is probably a silly question to most of you but i have to ask. What is it about this kit that makes it so popular and why is it that everyone seems to want one?
