One person I keep seeing on evilbay always has kits that actually are hard to get but lists them at Buy Now prices that are just plain crazy. Along with that, a lot of the bids state for one kit only but show about half a dozen. Talk about a quick buck, I doubt many are actually sold at those prices. I also saw a bid Thursday that had a price on a kit bid to over $200 and the listed shipping was like $115! Wonder if the bids were legit and if so did the bidders read the shipping costs? There were 25 bids shown and I find that a bit hard to believe. It wasn't that big a deal kit.

i think you'll find that's the same pair of idiots that have been mentioned o this thread a few times riley603 and worldsbestmom196, they're related in some way (probably through incest).
They've got dozens of kit's that we'd all give an arm and a leg to have but they're asking an army a leg and both balls. Even with their ridiculous shipping prices, they never sell any of their kit's (check their feedback, virtually no models have sold) and this is because of the pathetically high reserve prices they set.

Hello Everyone,
Today I took the time to have a read through the topic of high prices on ebay.
Thanks to a couple of you I have been saved from being ripped off for the first time ever on ebay.
I have only done 5 transactions on ebay and they went well and I would trade again any time with the people I have.
There has been mention of 2 traders on this discussion and I nearly bought a truck kit I have wanted for 20 years and was never able to get.
I was warned by a good friend in England to a possable ripoff when he told me the cost of shipping was way to high.
After a deep breath and a sad and heavy heart I stopped bidding and walked away from a kitset I still desire.
Since the trade in question has all ready been named I will name it here also it was worldsbestmom196.
I thankyou all from saving me the pain and suffering of being either ripped off or paying for something that may never have turned up.
Cheers
John

I know what you all mean. I been wanting to get another bj & bear but every time it gets down to 10 minutes or so left of auction the price shoots through the roof. I have one that i built years ago but the decals where cutup when i bought it. So it sets on my shelf with out decals but otherwise a nice truck. PM sent about BJ & the Bear kit

Heck, its a 1/32 scale, not even 1/24 or 1/25.

No Way! Granted the paint looks nice but the engine looks plain and , like already said, it's a 1:32. I just can't sit here and believe that there were 25 bids on this. Ebay is quickly becoming the rip-off capital on the Internet.

if all 27 kits were complete it would be a bargain ($750 / 27 = $28 each) but 8 of them aren't even complete

Ebay is quickly becoming the rip-off capital on the Internet. things are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them! no one forces people to pay exorbitant prices you have to set your limit and stick to it there are still some bargains to be had(although a lot harder to find )
