It is a Peterbilt 357 with a sbfa(set back front axle) and vocational/heavy haul hood. The hood is bigger at the nose to accommodate a larger radiator. Note how the radiator/grille is seperate from the hood, I think that is so when the hood is tilted, it would clear any add ons such as a guard or fluid cooler that would mount in front of the hood.

There is an Freightliner Argosy kit being released in Jan 2010, with the American, and the later Australian version, both left and right hand drive versions for those that drive on the wrong side of the road

Howdy , Maybe someone will know this, Does anyone or has anyone made a resin kit of the Freightliner Argosy. (I think that's the name) I saw one the other day and fell in love with it. I would like to make a replica of that truck. I have included pictures of the truck I'm talking about. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreicate it. ;DPlease excuse the ugly Ford Explorer in the background, For some reason I had to park it next to the truck. ;D This looks close, and is the master for the Argosy kit, real nice eh?

Personally I don't care who mastered it, it's rather who can I get this from when it is released.

This was posted by Howard Whitehead from KFS on another board concerning the Argosy: Just to put a little more flesh on the bones of this story.....I currently hold the Argosy masters made by Andrey & yes they are truly fantastic. I was to do the chromed etch parts, waterslide decals, instructions & arrange the casting & marketing. Now, it is not so much the 'lawyers' or even Freightliner itself that have put an end to this project, but the corporate giant that looks after licensing issues. It is not actually the case that we 'could not get' a license to produce the kit...just that the strings attached were far too imposing to be realistic for our tiny corner of the hobby. The licensing agents were looking for guaranteed sales, royalties per kit, & a financial advance to issue the license. Plus, & possibly most uncomfortably, far too much private information about KFS, its annual turnover, bank account details customer & supplier details et etc. All in all, had we gone with the license, the kit would very likely be in the region of £150.00 per kit, possibly more.....& I think you'll agree this puts it out of reach of many modellers. Despite trying to contact Freightliner directly & despite trying to explain that these kits were 'conversions' & not complete models....nor were they collectible items made in China by the thousand....we always came back to the same answer. Before anyone asks.....Freightliner have a patent on the Argosy cab 'shape', so no. it can't be issued with out badges until 2014 at least. Hope this explains the present situation.
