The pic is of a 379, but the box says 378. My understanding is that the kit is a 378 with 63" sleeper(no more raiding those 377 kits for it). If the stripes are there in the kit, it will be nice instead of the mythical creatures found on the decal sheets of most Italeri truck kits. lol

From what I understand, the stripes that are on the 379 on the box are included in the decal sheet along with an updated dash panel. This kit doesn't come cheep. It's MSRP of $92.

its not been released in the us yet. but the msrp is 92. so you can pretty much bet its gonna be a 100 dollar kit. but then again why not? we all wanted it and now we got it.now we have to pay for it.

Not really, We would all be better off buying the 2 kits needed to make this one truck. Here is my reasoning for this..... For an extra $30.00 you would have 2 kits. This would increase kit sales. So the manufactures would see these as being desireable kits to us and keep producing them. Now that we have robbed the sleeper from the one kit what do we do with you ask. Well 1 of 2 things. Put the extra parts in your parts bins or build the second truck as a daycab by either scratch building the rear cab panel or buying a resin one. In my opinion for what it is worth I would get more value and enjoyment from spending $130.00 for the 2 kits versus $100.00 for one kit.

I have to agree with the price, but on of the problems with the North American distribution of Italeri kits is MRC. They always increase their profit margin. It was done when they were the sole importer of Tamiya, again with Heller and once again with Fujimi. The other two problems with ALL the plastic kit prices (and other goods) is 1) that the cost of labor in China has risen 40%. 2)manufacturers do smaller runs and raise the costs to keep the profit margin up. This was a major discussion at the NYC Toy Fair this year. I personally would buy the pair to make 2 of what I want. Paul

To rich for my blood. They talk about the economy being bad....... who's ours or theirs? Same with Revell AG. kit they sold a few years ago for $65-$75 now being reissued for $132.00+ yes I am talking about the KW Wrecker.

Yea, I won't be getting one of the wreckers! Not for that price. They must be basing the price on Ebay sales not realizing the far larger portion of the market are not willing to pay that kind of price. They are probably in for a big upset. The Can Do Pete, I think, had more for your money and was only $70 when they were discontinued 2-3 years ago. If I can't get the next 378 for no more than $50, I won't be getting any at all. I got the reissues last year for $40.

Also looks like Italeri will be doing a Peterbilt wrecker #3858 and the old FLC Freightliner #3860 makes a come back later this year. As for this new Peterbilt it come with silver stripe just like the box! you can check it out on the polish e-bay web site.

What I am wondering is will it be a 379 that is being marketed as a 378 I am willing to throw a hundred dollar bill at it to find out. That might be were the extra expense is coming from if they re tooled for a new hood. As for the big sleeper not a selling point for me. I would be more interested in weather or not it is a 379. I'm betting not but I guess we will have to wait and see.
