It has been discussed here several times before and I am sorry for bringing this up again.
If I want to install the extended hood to a kit designed for short hood, what do I have to do with the frame? In case of 359 Peterbilt, I think, I have to cut the frame between the front suspension and steering box mount. Then I have to extend the frame by the same length as is the difference between the short and long hoods. Is that right? And what exactly the difference actually is? Someone here talked about 8", is that correct?
Changing the position of the cab mounts rearwards looks like easier way to go around this. But that would affect the positions of other parts mounted behind the cab.
I would like to have your opinions about this and your experiences if you already underwent this change. Thanks a lot for any input.

I have done a couple of 359's. I add in the needed difference behind the front suspension mounting points. I always measure the extended hood I am using compared to the kit supplied hood to get the exact distance that needs to be added. Hope this helps.

I am not a fan of cutting frames to install a long hood or streaching wheel base either one. I test fit the hood to the frame then install the cab mounts to the frame and hood. Just my 2 cents and what works for me.
