Hey fellres, Been workin on a nwer style kw. Got the hood and cab\sleeper from Brad at BRL. The frame is from a T-600 that's been streched a little and updated the rear suspension from the revell cabover kw. Here's a few early shots The paint has been stripped since this picture. I've gave up ever using spray cans again, lol. Broke out my old airbrush and finally got it workin again. This is what I HOPE to get it lookin like when finished

Some updated shots. got the new paint on it. Been tryim BMF for the first time.................not at all happy with the results,LOL. I think it's more me than the foil, but it looks like crap on the grill of the truck, on the steps Iordered too. Gonna order some alclad an try that an see how that works

BMF works good for stuff like window trim and body side molding. For larger areas it is really hard to work with because it wrinkles so easily. The alclad works really good. The 2 keys to using it are 1) a very smooth high gloss black enamel base 2) apply the alclad in multiple very light coats until you get the effect your after.

That's what I found on the bmf............to many wrinkles. I thought it was just the guy puttin it on tho, lol.
Got my alclad ordered today.......hopefully I can get it lookin better with it.
I found an article on using it on the net, and it really stressed the same thing you said.....must be smooth and have a good gloss black paint for the primer.
Hopefully in a few days it'll come in and I can see how it works out.

Good first attempt. You have the shape almost there from what I can see. Pix a little blurry though, so somewhat hard to tell.

Thanks!
Yeah, I'm not the best at using a camera,LOL.
I thought about the ones from KFS, but thought since I already had the aluminum I'd give it a shot.
Might go ahead and get them tho.......... I want them to look right and not sure I can get these there.
Thanks ,
Anthony
