Some of the truck model builders from my home country, the Czech Republic, took part in an unofficial event lasting Friday through Sunday in a small village called Hurky. This gethering was the third round of model building weekend. Unlike building your models at home, this gethering brings you the luxury of no disturbance. No wifes, no kids, no everyday duties... just building, eating, drinking, sleeping and building again.
A contest in building the truck model from opening the box to the finished and painted model in the weekend´s time, that was also a part of the event. Only three brave guys took part in it. And they made it and proved that it is possible. The common model was DAF. Pictures were taken at specific times noted on a piece of paper to document the progress.
These are the three competing DAF models plus a Daihatsu Midget in 1/32 scale. That was finished on Sunday in 6 hours time.
But those three DAFs were not the only ones present. Look at this fleet.
But the most intersting model on the table in my view was this skidder of 1930´s.
We all had a good time and the fourth round is scheduled for the summer. Jarda
